Free Fly Fishing for Kids
The American Museum of Fly Fishing at 4070 Main Street in Manchester is hosting free fly fishing for kids ages six to 12 on Thursdays in July. Explore a different aspect of the sport each week from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. The lessons are not cumulative, so feel free to stop by any week and join in. On July 11, in ‘All Tied Up’ fly tiers Paul Sinicki and Kelly Bedford will explain how to make flies enticing to fish. July 25, discover fish species and their habitats during ‘Go Fish & Bugged Out.’ Hunt for bugs and learn what fish like to eat. July 18 ‘Tackle and Casting’ will show you how to cast and make a practice rod. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the activities. The programs will be held rain or shine, and snacks will be provided. For information, contact Kelsey at 802-362-3300 or [email protected] .
