Granville Museum to Hold Slate Mosaic Workshop
On Saturday, September 27, the Slate Valley Museum in Granville, N.Y., will host a mosaic workshop with artist Linda Biggers. Over the course of the day-long program, students will create a mosaic using slate from Slate Valley quarries and a variety of brightly colored tesserae (stained glass, beads, tempered glass, and so on). The workshop is part of a series of offerings held in conjunction with the museum’s current art exhibition, ‘Slate as Muse.’ One of Biggers’ works is included in the exhibition. More information about Linda Biggers and her artwork can be found at eggshellmosaicart.com.
During the workshop, students will try their own hands at creating mosaics with slate and stained glass. The program is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
