Heart of the Village Yoga Celebrates One Year
Heart of the Village Yoga is offering three free community classes to celebrate its one year anniversary. Jo Kirsch is teaching a free Yin Yoga class from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, October 27. Kirsch will weave poetry, gentle music and silence to create a space for participants to sink deeply into the simple, long-held Yin postures.
Alexandra Langstaff is teaching a free Modern Dance class, from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 30. “A great dance class to me is one that introduces a way of moving to a piece of music that is very different from the way I would naturally move.” said Alexandra Langstaff. “It’s challenging, and at times frustrating. I know I will never be a superstar but a good dance class makes me feel like one! That’s what I want for my students.” This class is ideal way for the new-to-dance as well as for those who have been away for awhile.
Instructor Meghann Cancio-Bello is teaching a free Gentle/Restorative Yoga class from 4:15 to 5:30 on Friday, October 31. Ease your body through a series of standing, seated, reclining and restorative poses designed to gently build strength, improve balance and dissolve stress and tension. This class is appropriate for all levels, and for those looking for a gentle way to explore breathing, flexibility and range of motion.
‘Back Care Basics’ with Charles Waters is a two-part workshop series: ‘Viniyoga for the Low Back, Hips and Sacrum,’ 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, October 26, and ‘Viniyoga for Upper Back, Neck and Shoulders,’ 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, November 2.
