ICM Concludes Film Series
Israel Congregation of Manchester (ICM) will conclude its Jewish Film Series with the moving Israeli film, ‘Shoelaces,’ at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 5, at the Manchester Community Library. Nominated for eight Ophir Awards (Israel’s Academy Awards), including Best Picture in 2018, ‘Shoeslaces’ (presented in Hebrew with English subtitles) is a heartwarming story of love, life and human connection. It focuses on the complicated relationship between an aging father and his special needs son. “’Shoelaces’ is a special project for me,” explains director Jacob Goldwasser. “As a father of a special needs son, I never felt that the depiction of special needs characters on film rang true.” Nevo Kimchi, in the role of the son, created a person with differences who is human and real, filled with humor, optimism and charm. The Jewish Film Series is free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated. For details, call 802-362-4578.
