Link Exhibits at Canfield Gallery
‘Views of the World,’ an exhibition of recent photographs by Jim Link, will be on view at Arlington, Vermont’s Canfield Gallery, Saturday, August 2 through Sunday, August 31. These images of life are from his recent travels to Kenya, Bali, Thailand, Italy and Switzerland. Link feels that the world is a museum, and spends most of his time on the streets of cities and villages rather than in museums. Excursions through the countryside have allowed him to visit with people in the fields and to discuss farming and everyday life. Link has lived in Sandgate since 1979. He taught elementary school for 30 years in Bennington, Vt. His photo, ‘Happy Tears,’ was selected for the cover on the 2013 Sandgate Annual Report. He has also earned numerous awards from peers and judges, at the photo contest website photobug.
There will be an opening reception on Saturday, August 2, from 3 to 5 p.m. This event is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served. A portion of all art sales benefits the Martha Canfield Library. For more information about this event, call 802-375-6153 or visit marthacanfieldlibrary.org.
