Love, Betrayal, Death and Duels
The things that led writer Nathaniel Hawthorne to become one of the greats – love, betrayal, death and duels – were anything but boring. Educator and researcher Linda Neville will take visitors to Natural Bridge State Park in North Adams, Mass. on an exciting journey into the events that brought Hawthorne to North Adams, and discuss how places like Natural Bridge inspired his work. This free program scheduled for 10 a.m. on Sunday, August 17, is sponsored by the Department of Conservation and Recreation, and is open to all ages. A $2 parking fee does apply. Natural Bridge is located on McCauley Road off Route 8. Call Ashley at 413-663-6392 for more information.
