LTS Track & Field Team News
The Long Trail School Middle School track and field team made history on Wednesday at the Windsor Middle School MVL Meet. This was the first time LTS fielded a full team at a track meet in the history of the school. The team of six boys and ten girls had a wonderful showing at the meet with many top 20 finishers. Alanah Walsh was the winner of the girls’ shot put with a throw of 21 feet, 11 inches – the top in Vermont so far this season! The relay team of Aimee Wildman, Molly Luikart, Abby McChesney and Natalie Wildman won the girls’ 4x100m race in a time of 1:02.00. Other top 20 individual finishes included Zach Wildman, Tucker Haynes, Nick O’Donnell, Nate Cole, Ben Gynan, Maddie DiStasio, Emma Bourque, Amelia Vickery, Meara Morgan and Sawyer Powers. The boys’ 4x100m relay team (Haynes, O’Donnell, Cadish Smid and Wildman) finished sixth; the boys’ 4x200m relay team finished fifth (Haynes, O’Donnell, Gynan and Wildman.) The girls’ B 4x100m relay team (DiStasio, Bourque, Walsh, Vickery) finished sixth. The girls’ A 4x200m relay team (A. Wildman, DiStasio, McChesney, N. Wildman) finished fourth, and the B relay team (Luikart, Bourque, Powers, Vickery) finished seventh. They’re back in competition on Monday at the Riverside MS Invitational in Springfield. The High School team begans their season on Saturday at the Slater Invitational in Fair Haven.
