Manchester Concerts Resume at Earth Sky Time Farm
Earth Sky Time kicks off this season’s farm concert series Memorial Day weekend with Kotoko Brass and Daby Toure at 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 26. Kotoko Brass melds the beautifully complex traditional drumming of Central Ghana, Caribbean bass and keys and jubilant New Orleans horns to forge a sound the Boston Globe has described as “propulsive, infectious party music.” Born in Mauritania and raised in Senegal, Daby Touré has lived and performed for more than a quarter century in Paris before recently moving to Montreal. With influences ranging from African folk melodies and desert blues, to jazz, pop, reggae, funk and soul, Daby Touré astounds with his ethereal voice and masterful guitar work. The farmers and bakers of Earth Sky Time will be serving wood-fired pizza from their Bread Bus as well as homegrown salad, beer, wine and kombucha. The event will be held inside the barn in the event of rain. Admission is $15 (students and farmers are $10); kids are always free. Earth Sky Time Community Farm is located at 1547 Main Street in Manchester. More information is available at earthskytime.com.
