Manchester’s Street Fest: One Big Block Party
Music, food, acrobatic feats and kids’ activities top the events planned for the first of two free street fests on Manchester’s Main Street on Friday, July 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. The free block party continues the town’s celebration of summer and its residents. Headlining the event will be the rock and roll music of the Don’t Leave Band, with a playlist of hits from the 60s until today. Local band members Bill Muench on guitar and Lee Romano on bass are joined by musicians Mike Meaney on drums, Dave Domenick on guitar and Greg Snedeker playing piano and cello. Last summer’s high energy concert had folks dancing in the street. Through a special permit, wine and beer available from the Perfect Wife Restaurant can be enjoyed on the street. Hot dogs from NanZ’s and Rachel’s Funky Fare along with Thai favorites will help fuel the party. Lining the street will be booths featuring the works of artisans. Activities just for kids will be provided by the Downtown School, Northshire Day School and Mark Skinner Library. Additional vendors will showcase the new Manchester Riverwalk, the services of GNAT and Serv-Pro. For more information, email [email protected] or call 802-362-5333.
