New York’s Capital Region Hospice Needs New Volunteers

The Community Hospice, providing services in eight counties around the Capital Region, is looking for compassionate and friendly people who have positive attitudes and are good listeners to be Hospice Volunteers. Volunteers may visit with patients and families in private homes, hospitals and nursing homes; help with administrative work; deliver supplies, run errands, and support the Hospice effort in a number of other ways. Information sessions will be held on February 18, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Greenwich Library, Greenwich, N.Y., and on February 27, 10 a.m. to noon, at the North Chatham United Methodist Church, North Chatham, N.Y. Applications and other information about volunteer opportunities will be available. Training sessions will be held during March, April and May. Visit communityhospice.org for more information.
