Palmer Exhibits at Dorset Library
The featured artist at the Dorset Public Library during the month of November is Gloria Palmer. The public is invited to meet the artist at the opening reception on Saturday, November 1, from 11 to 1 p.m. Refreshments will be served. All works are for sale, with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit the library.
Palmer has dabbled in various artistic projects for years, but within the past five years turned her focus to watercolor painting. She also works with fiber to create hand-hooked pillows, rugs and wall hangings from hand-dyed wool fabric cut into strips. When not painting, Palmer works full-time for Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning as its executive director.
The Dorset Library will be open extended hours on Halloween. From 5 to 7 p.m., Piglet and Pooh Bear will be handing out candy to the children. Stop by and show us your costumes! The Library has a new website: dorsetvillagelibrary.org. The Library is open Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call 802-867-5774.
