Volunteers sort through boxes and boxes of books – almost 15,000 – in preparation for the Palwet Library’s fundraising book sale.

The Pawlet Public Library is holding its 51st annual Book Sale on Saturday, July 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, July 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mettawee Community School on Route 153 in West Pawlet. With nearly 15,000 books this year, this sale is one of the largest in New England, offering fiction, non-fiction, mystery, philosophy and religion, rare books, children’s books, art, health, gardening, cooking, biography, history, DVDs, CDs, audio, puzzles, games and more! Come early for the best selection. Also featured during the event will be a raffle featuring a hooked rug by Chandler Four Corners hooked rug, the Book Lover’s Cafe and a Bake Sale All proceeds from the event go towards programing at the Pawlet Public Library, located on School Street in the Village of Pawlet.
