Pete’s Posse to Perform at Old Firehouse
Vermont folk legend Pete Sutherland and his friends, now known as Pete’s Posse, will be performing at the Old Firehouse in Tinmouth on Friday, September 12, at 7:30 p.m. Sutherland has played and sung everywhere in Vermont, including the Tinmouth contra dances. He has decades of concerts, teaching and studio production behind him. His Posse includes his teenage fiddle
protégé and fellow clayfoot strutter Oliver Scanlon and accompanist Tristan Henderson, also of Atlantic Crossing and Pipers Den. With Pete’s rootsy songs, original and traditional fiddle music and a few out-there covers, this band is an ever-evolving musical relationship spanning generations. The Old Firehouse, with its modest size and outstanding acoustics is the place to hear them.
A donation of $10 is suggested; 90 percent goes to the musicians and 10 percent to the town to help with Old Firehouse maintenance and upkeep costs. The Old Firehouse is located near Route 140 at 7 Mountain View Road in downtown Tinmouth, Vt. The doors will open at 7 p.m. Coffee, tea and locally made treats are available, provided by local groups to support their activities. Call Jo Reynolds to find out more at 802-446-3457.
