Poultney Parade, Festival, Fireworks

Come celebrate in Poultney on Friday, July 4, when we’ll be running the Martin Devlin Fun Run, eating an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast at the Methodist Church on Main Street, saluting area organizations at the famous Poultney parade, and having a grand time playing games, watching marionettes and magicians, listening to old-time musicians and enjoying the fireworks at the Field Events down at Poultney Elementary School. Acts to look forward to this year include the Rutland Curbstone Chorus, the Catamount Pipe Band, magicians Tom Joyce and Blaine Goad, No Strings Marionettes, face painting, bluegrass music and  DJ John Saltis. There will also be delicious foods: the Poultney Snowmobile Club will be grilling up hotdogs, hamburgers and French fries, we’ll have loaded baked potatoes, freaky fries, kettle corn, plenty of fried dough, and all sorts of maple treats to honor this year’s Made in Vermont theme. poultneyrecreation.com/[email protected]
