Relay For Life
The American Cancer Society announces that Billie Jo Tifft will be returning to the Relay For Life of Bennington County as the Event Chair for 2014. Tifft is returning to the event after taking several years off, and brings with her a whole new committee of volunteers from the community who are excited to see the Relay continue to thrive in Bennington.
The Relay For Life supports the American Cancer Society’s mission of saving lives by helping people stay well, helping people get well, by finding cures and by fighting back against the disease. This event has happened for the past 18 years in Bennington. It brings together friends, families, businesses, hospitals, schools, civic and faith-based groups to celebrate the lives of those who have battled with cancer and join the fight against the disease. Participants form teams and camp around the track at Mount Anthony Union High School, walking throughout the night in honor of the concept that cancer never sleeps. While Tifft and her new committee are expected to bring a new flavor to the event, long-time participants and survivors will find the spirit of the Relay For Life to be what they have come to know and love; a place to be honored, see and celebrate friends and have a great time with the whole community. If you would like to join the Relay For Life as a volunteer or team member, please contact Billie Jo Tifft at 802-442-5528 or [email protected], or Claire Giroux-William at 802-872-6321 or [email protected] To sign up visit relayforlife.org/benningtonvt or find us on Facebook at Relay For Life of Bennington County.
