Residential Energy Resource Panel
The Bennington County Regional Commission is hosting a discussion with panelists from NeighborWorks of Western Vermont and BROC Community Action to provide community members with information on residential energy use. ‘It Starts at Home: Towards Residential Energy Efficiency in Southwest Vermont’ will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, at Cole Hall in Shaftsbury.
“The cost of heating and cooling old Vermont homes only amplifies the region’s housing crisis,” said Madison Kremer, VISTA member of the Bennington County Regional Commission. “Luckily, there are many opportunities for communities to take advantage of incentives and grants and partner with great organizations to help folks weatherize and improve the energy efficiency of their homes.”
The panel will provide an overview of what communities can do to help lower financial and environmental residential energy costs. There will also be an opportunity for both new and more experienced energy committees, as well as the general public, to discuss the progress and challenges they face and advice they have to share regarding residential energy. The event is free and will begin with free food. For more
