Sage City Symphony Season Ends with Concert and Potluck Dinner
The Sage City Symphony will present its final concert of the season at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, in the Greenwall Auditorium at Bennington College. Conducted by Michael Finckel, the program will feature Allen Shawn’s ‘Cello Concerto’ with Maxine Neuman as soloist and Edward Elgar’s ‘Enigma Variations, Opus 36.’ The wind and brass sections will open the concert with Giovanni Gabrieli’s ‘Sonata Pian e Forte’ for eight players. The performance will be followed by a reception, then our annual dinner of home-made dishes at 6 p.m., with vegetarian lasagna, turkey, ham, salads, vegetable dishes and luscious desserts prepared by the Board of Sage City Symphony. The concert is free and dinner tickets are $20. The Berkshire Bank will sponsor this concert.
