‘Scrooge in Bethlehem’
The Sunday School class of the United Church of Dorset and East Rupert will be performing ‘Scrooge in Bethlehem’ on Sunday, December 22, during the 10 a.m. service. This charming adaptation of the Charles Dickens’ tale tells the story of what happens when crotchety innkeeper Ebenezer Scrooge is forced to search his wretched soul when he refuses to shelter Mary and Joseph on the night of Jesus’ birth, and finally sees the light of salvation when God sends down His angels. The production features a rich tapestry of seasonal scripture read by Ayrn Ianuzzi and English Carols and hymns accompanied by Stephen Mathyas on piano and several solo performances. The United Church of Dorset and East Rupert is located at 143 Church Street in Dorset.
