Second Chance Animal Center to Host Holiday Open House

Celebrate the holidays with Second Chance Animal Center (SCAC) when they will host an open house with a holiday twist on Saturday, December 8, from 12 to 3 p.m. The event will be held at SCAC’s new facility, located at 1779 Route 7A in Arlington, and will offer fun activities for everyone, including a scavenger hunt and prizes for kids, sugar cookies to decorate and eat, workshops to create holiday decorations, a hot chocolate bar, and even a chance to have your photograph taken with Santa Paws from 1 to 2 p.m.

“Second Chance Animal Center provides important community services throughout the year, and as the holidays approach we enjoy the opportunity to celebrate our accomplishments with our supporters,” says Cathi Comar, executive director. “We have several activities planned for the day, and we look forward to hosting this year’s event at our new Arlington building.”

Are you are looking for a holiday gift for your pet? If so, SCAC has festive items available to purchase now through the end of December, including dog collars, dog treats, holiday attire and more. Thanks to a large donation from the Bennington Petco store, 100 percent of your purchase benefits the shelter directly. Second Chance Animal Center, incorporated as the Bennington County Humane Society, has been serving the needs of homeless animals in the tri-state area since 1959. SCAC is dedicated to improving the lives of companion animals in the communities that they serve, and providing compassionate shelter, care and adoption services for homeless and unwanted animals.
