Fisher Elementary’s 220 students have a new BFF. Shaw’s Supermarket of Manchester, Vt. has adopted the school as part of its ‘Point of Purchase’ program, which provides store products throughout the year and an initial $400 for the school to use.  Four Shaw’s employees, store director Scott Dickie, customer service manager Rachel Martin, deli manager Deb Baccei and cashier Kathy Frost, visited Fisher with trays of food and a check to kick off the adoption process. Martin said Fisher was one of two area elementary schools chosen by the program. “Students at this age are so excited about school, and we wanted to do something extra for them. We are very glad to be able to donate to schools in our community.”

Fisher principal Deanne Lacoste welcomed the Shaw’s staff and thanked them for their generosity.  “I say it all of the time, but Fisher is so fortunate to be part of a community that cares so much about helping kids.  We thank Shaw’s for their support, and we will use their donation for student enrichment programs.”
