The tenth annual Sheep Dog Trial and Farm Festival at Merck Forest and Farmland Center takes place on Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and 13, from
8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is a great way to experience Vermont’s heritage of sheep farming, and allows visitors to see the handlers and their border collies compete for the Trail title at the Merck Forest Open!

The Farm Festival will include Sherman’s General Store serving kielbasa and sausage from Merck’s farm, local crafters who specialize in fiber arts
(this year will include an alpaca fiber vendor, batik artist and a variety of homespun yarns, loomed rugs, towels),  horse drawn wagon rides, children’s activities, and more. For more information, visit merckforest.org. Tickets are $5/adult, $3/child ages 4 to12, under age 4/free. Volunteers are always needed at this event, if you are interested in volunteering, email [email protected]
