Slate Valley Trails Hosts ‘Almost Fall’ Trail Fest (and a Feast!)
Join Slate Valley Trails (SVT) on Saturday, August 31, from 2 to 6 p.m. at their ‘Almost Fall’ Trail Fest at the Fairgrounds/Town Farm Road Trailhead, 125 Town Farm Road, Poultney, to say goodbye to summer and celebrate another great season of hiking and biking. Choose from a variety of group outings earlier, then gather at 4 p.m. to enjoy a potluck supper. There will be SVT merchandise for purchase and a raffle offering a host of prizes. The event will feature organized gravel rides, a trail run, walks and mountain bike rides suitable for all abilities and fitness levels. You can also adventure on your own. This is an all-ages, free event. Attendees should bring personal gear for outings, a potluck dish, your own silverware (reduce plastic!), a chair or blanket and your beverage(s) of choice. Slate Valley Trails is a volunteer community group founded in 2015 with the mission to build, maintain and promote foot and bicycling trails in the Slate Valley region of southwestern Vermont.
