Stoneware Collectors Return for Lecture and Sale in Bennington
The Stoneware Collectors’ Group began in the late 1980s with an annual stoneware auction in Vermont. Although the auction ended, the stoneware dealers and collectors have continued their get-togethers in Bennington to swap stories as well as stoneware. The result was the Stoneware Collectors’ Sale and Lecture, held in the spring and fall.
The Group will meet at the Bennington Museum, 4 p.m. on Friday, May 2, for a presentation by William Ketchum, Jr., a well-known figure in the antiques world. ‘An Overview of New York State Redware,’ included with $10 admission to the Bennington Museum, is open to the public. Those who would like to browse through the museum galleries prior to the lecture may do so. For information, call 860-653-5733, or visit madriverantiques.com.
The sale will be held on Saturday, May 3, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine, on the grounds at the Antique Center at Camelot Village in Bennington, Vt.
