Taconic’s Chamber Music Intensive Masterclass, Concert for Veterans
Taconic Music invites the public to a masterclass on Tuesday, July 9, from 3 to 5 p.m. at 292 Taconic Road in Manchester Village, led by violinist Nicholas DiEugenio, assistant professor of violin at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and faculty at Kinhaven Music School in Westo. DiEugenio will work with two Chamber Music Intensive (CMI) groups, performing a movement of a piano quartet by Dvorak and a string quartet by Mozart. Admission is $10 at the door.
Next, at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, the Vermont Veterans’ Home in Bennington will host CMI violinists Katherine Gilger and Sicong Chen, violists Elizabeth Tobald and Kristi Holstein, and cellists Jacob Barker and Isaiah Pennington, who will perform works by Brahms and other composers. This concert for VVH residents and community members is made possible through a partnership with Vietnam veteran Garry DuFour of Dorset, generously sponsored by The Bank of Bennington. It is free and open to the public. For more information, visit taconicmusic.org.
