‘The All Night Strut!’ at BBA Recreates an Era of Music & Dance
Burr and Burton Performing Arts Department presents ‘The All Night Strut!’ in the Riley Center for the Arts at BBA, Tuesday through Saturday, May 14 to 18, at 6:30 p.m. ‘The All Night Strut!’ invites you to get on board as its rich musical journey transports you back to a bygone era. Experience the music of the Depression, World War II and the post-war boom of the 1930s and ’40s, as nine incredible singers and 14 fantastic dancers recreate the rollicking rhythm, rhyme and rich harmonies of jazz, bebop, blues and uniquely American songs like ‘In The Mood,’ ‘Juke Box Saturday Night,’ ‘Chattanooga Choo Choo,’ ‘Ain’t Misbehavin,’ and more, by such legendary composers as Hoagy Carmichael, Frank Loesser, Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer, Cab Calloway and the Gershwins. It’s sure to transport you back in time to when music defined, healed and inspired a nation.
The cast includes Miles Allen, Isabelle Desroche, Anna Freebern, Val Giesey, Zoe Grigsby, Julia Lund, Annabelle Mackson, Matt Scott, August Stauffer, Julia Barclay, Evangeline Bulick, Mylee Downey, Ryan Frank, Rachel Hemmer, Ariah Holliman, Jillian Ihasz, Sophie Jager, Aidan Kennedy, Julia Lorenzoni, Sabayo Matiku, Melissa Nolan, Emily Samuelson and Hannah Samuelson.
