The Summit: for Teens
The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Arts (MASS MoCA) and the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) , along with the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition (NBCC) are holding The Summit, from 4 to 9 on Friday, November 15, to bring together artists, MCLA students, museum staff and teens for an action-packed, fun-filled event to envision youth arts programming. Twenty-five youths from the northern Berkshires, ages 13 to 19, are sought to participate in the five-hour summit, where they will engage in creating art, connect with other teens and artists, and brainstorm possible visual and performing arts programs with college students and museum staff. Dinner, giveaways and art supplies will be provided. MCLA Arts Management students will help to plan the event and serve as mentors. The Summit aims to develop future arts programs and establish a gallery and studio/workshop space dedicated to teens.
