The UCS Northshire Barn Sale is this Weekend
United Counseling Service has been the beneficiary of a charitable fundraiser organized by a wonderful group known as the Barn Sale Committee since 2012. This group of dedicated women donate many of the items, devote their time and energy to getting the event off the ground, and determine reasonable prices for the high quality merchandise offered. The proceeds from the event support outpatient services, particularly for those who cannot afford them, for the Northshire UCS.
This year’s Barn Sale will take place rain or shine, on Saturday and Sunday, September 20 and 21, at 3 High Fields Lane in Manchester, Vt. just off of Manchester West Road next to the Southern Vermont Arts Center entrance.
“There are some incredible bargains on great items,” said Ruth Hoffman of the Barn Sale Committee. “We enjoy organizing the Barn Sale every year because it’s a great way to help those in need and make a difference in our community.”
Teens 4 Change, a youth group supported by UCS, participates in the Barn Sale each year by providing assistance and setting up a concession stand. According to the group, it’s a great opportunity to help out and learn some key business skills during the sale.
The Barn Sale Committee was recognized with a community award at UCS’ annual recognition luncheon, due to the success of the previous sales which raised a combined $40,000. Already planning for 2015, the Barn Sale Committee welcomes anyone interested in hosting the sale at their barn to contact Peg Gregory at 802-362-3950.
