Vermont Summer Festival Opens
The Vermont Summer Festival opens Tuesday, July 1 with six weeks of world class hunter, jumper and equitation competitions at the Harold Beebe Farm in East Dorset. The show offers more than $750,000 in prize money, making it the richest sporting event based on purse in the state of Vermont. The Vermont Celebration Jumper Classic serves as the championship class for the series, making it a goal for every eligible jumper rider at the show. Entry is earned by a horse-rider combination having a clear round in any of the 22 prior competitions. The horse and rider with the highest number of clear rounds also gets the advantage of going last in the order with the combination with the lowest number of clear rounds leading off the class. The country’s best hunter riders and horses go head-to-head for the chance to win the hunter derby finale. The Festival enjoys the backing of several world-class sponsors, and is a member event of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame, the Marshall and Sterling League and the North American League.
