Williams College Theatre Presents ‘Bulrusher’
Williams College Theatre Department is proud to present Pulitzer prize nominated playwright Eisa Davis’ ‘Bulrusher.’ Performances are on Thursday to Saturday, May 8 to 10, at 7:30 p.m., in the Adams Memorial Theatre at the ‘62 Center for Theatre and Dance at Williams College, 1000 Main Street, Williamstown, Mass.
Eisa Davis sets this coming-of-age tale within the backdrop of the nations maturing civil rights struggles, where spiritual awakening is steeped in the spicy, mysterious rhythms of Boontling, a language invented by the residents of Boonville, California to hide secrets and camouflage taboo subjects. Working with the students of Williams College, experimental theater director Charlotte Brathwaite takes the audience on a fantastical journey, tickling our ears and igniting our senses as we traverse the swamps of youthful self-discovery. For tickets, $3, visit the Williams ‘62 Center call 413-597-2425. For more information, 62center.williams.edu.
