Berkshire Humane Society (BHS) is going to the dogs! Once again, itís time for Woofstock, the shelter’s annual dog walk on Sunday, September 14, at Richmond Pond at Camp Russell in Richmond, Mass.

Woofstock 2014 provides a wonderful opportunity to raise money for the animals at BHS while enjoying a great outing with your dogs, friends and family members. The day kicks off with a pancake breakfast, from 8 to 11 a.m. Registration for the walk is at 10 a.m., with the walk beginning at 11.

Great prizes will be awarded to individual walkers and teams of walkers who collect the most pledges. There will be demonstrations, raffles, games and classes for dogs and their people, snacks and a bounce house for kids. Vendors include Heartland Golden Retriever Rescue, Therapy Dog International, Fitter Critters and Berkshire Disaster Animals Rescue Team, as well as June Greig, author of ‘A Dog to Remember’ and Corrine McKeown, artist and owner of Puppy Love Mosiacs. Canine Good Citizen testing will also be available for a fee.

Berkshire Humane Society  is a privately funded shelter that receives no public money, so your participation is very important to us.

BHS thanks Greylock Federal Credit Union as well as Bensonís Pet Center, Cardillo Mechanical Contracting, Performance Automotive of Pittsfield, Inc., and Pittsfield Veterinary Hospital for their support.
