Wounded Military Heroes Enjoy a Limitless Weekend
The Bart J. Ruggiere Center provides people with disabilities and their families the opportunity to enjoy outdoor sports, with a special focus on snowsports. The Bart Center relies on volunteers to teach, assist and provide a fun, empowering environment with specialized adaptive equipment. The program at Bromley Mountain caters to clients of all ages and adaptation needs, and also runs a summer camp program for all ages.
The Bart Center hosted its eighth annual Wounded Military Heroes Weekend, to bring regional veterans together for a weekend of skiing or snowboarding and friendship. The event is organized through the Bart Center in conjunction with the Wounded Warriors Project group. Fifteen veterans, guests and family members participanted to hit the slopes of Bromley Mountain, with assistance from dedicated volunteers. Those in attendance ranged from repeat visitors to first-time skiers and boarders.
Saturday evening was host to a benefit dinner to honor those that have given so much. There was a silent auction to support Bart Center’s programming, equipment fund, scholarship fund and general fund. Items were generously donated by businesses and members in the Manchester area and friends of the Bart Center. The weekend was a huge success thanks to volunteers, veterans, friends and family.
