Wrembel Performs Gypsy Swing
Virtuosic gypsy swing guitarist, Stephane Wrembel, is the second coming of Django Reinhardt – a fretboard wizard who embellishes the hot jazz of the 1930s, with flourishes of world music that create a sound all his own. Born in Paris and educated at Berklee College of Music, Wrembel wrote the theme song to Woody Allen’s ‘Midnight in Paris,’ has performed at the Academy Awards, and is one of the most astonishing musicians you’ll ever hear. He performs at MASS MoCA at 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, with his quartet, each a monster musician in his own right. For tickets, call 413-662-2111or visit massmoca.org. MASS MoCA is located in North Adams, Mass.
